June ends with Midsommar, the truest Swedish holiday. Flower crowns, herring, aquavit, a maypole. In Lapland the sun literally does not set. The country becomes something else entirely.

Abisko to Nikkaluokta, 105km, huts every 15–20km. June is mosquito season though — bring a head net.
Sweden's clearest big lake. Motala and Hjo have the best swimming piers.
